Sample Reports

Except where otherwise noted, all these reports can be produced
from an Ancestral Quest (.aq) or PAF 4 (.paf) database using Ancestral Quest 11,
or from a PAF 5 database (.paf) using either Ancestral Quest 11 or PAFWiz

Documented Pedigree Chart from PAF 5 DB (14 KB)

This chart is produced from a PAF 5 database (.paf) using either PAFWiz or AQ 11
Notice the following:

• When there is more than 1 source per event, you will see a letter, such as "A". In the documentation, you will see which source numbers are referred to by this letter.
• An option (used in this sample) lets you print events in the documentation for which there was no room on the chart itself.
• Separate options (both used in this sample) let you print the notes and/or sources.

Documented Pedigree Chart from AQ DB (13 KB)

This chart is produced from an Ancestral Quest database (.aq) using AQ 11
Notice the following:

• See the notes from the PAF 5 version above, as they all apply to this report.
• With an AQ database, you can reuse citations. Notice that the source list is much smaller in this report, yet everything is documented the same, because in an AQ database the same citation can be used for many events.
• Also with an AQ database, you can specify whether a source documents just the date or just the place of an event. Notice this difference in the placement of the footnote numbers on this chart.

Documented Pedigree Chart with Source Images from PAF 5 DB (1.4 MB)

This chart is produced from a PAF 5 database (.paf) using either PAFWiz or AQ 11
Notice the following:

• Those sources, to which images were attached, show "See Attachment ...", and on following pages, the images of the sources themselves are printed.
• This same report, without the repeated source citations, could be printed from a .aq database

Basic Quarter Circle Fan Chart (10 KB)

This is a 6 generation, quarter circle fan chart, with years only

Note: The Fan Chart is just a Pedigree Chart with a different format. You can print the same documentation pages for the fan charts as for the pedigree charts above.

Quarter Circle Fan Chart with details (16 KB)

This is a 6 generation, quarter circle fan chart, with full dates and places, as room permits

Half Circle Fan Chart with details (23 KB)

This is a 6 generation, half circle fan chart, with full dates and places, as room permits

Full Circle Fan Chart with details (38 KB)

This is a 9 generation, full circle fan chart on 30" wide paper, with full dates and places, as room permits

Note that fan charts can print on large paper, with up to 13 generations

Line of Descent - Basic (5 KB)

This drop-line chart is between President Eisenhower and his ancestor, Johann Stover, with fairly basic options selected

Line of Descent - Full Info (8 KB)

This is the same chart as above, but with options selected to show more information on each person, and with boxes drawn

Line of Descent - Large (24 KB)

This is the same chart as above, but on 24" wide paper, with pictures and shaded boxes. You can use wider paper.

Family Group Sheet from PAF 5 file (2.4 MB)

Using either AQ 11 or PAFWiz, you can produce a Family Group Sheet from a PAF 5 file with the images of Sources printed, if you so choose.

Family Group Sheet from AQ file (2.1 MB)

Using either AQ 11 with an .aq data file, you can produce a Family Group Sheet with the images of Sources printed. The differences between this report and the one above from a PAF file, are:

• By re-using the citations, the source list is much smaller
• You can specify whether a source image should take the full page, half page, or a quarter page. In this report you will see two images that print on a half page. With a .paf database (above), all images must print to a full page.
• You can specify that a source documents specifically only the date or place. Watch for footnote number placement in this report.

Individual Summary

As with the Family Group sheets, you can print source images in addition to the other information you normally expect.

Ahnentafel Chart (40 KB)

This is a basic Ahnentafel Chart (Narrative Ancestry chart). Note that this report has the option to print blank lines where a relative could fill in the gaps.

Ahnentafel Chart with Full Info from PAF 5 file (1.8 MB)

For this report, we turned off the blank line option, and added documentation with source images. This is printed from AQ 11 or PAFWiz from PAF 5 data.

Ahnentafel Chart with Full Info from AQ file (1.6 MB)

This is the same as the PAF 5 file above, but notice the condensed source numbering, and footnotes over dates and places, indicating that that was the only documented piece of information in the source.

Both Ancestral Quest and PAFWiz produce many, many other reports. The samples shown here are to give you a taste of what they can do, and to highlight the enhancements you can expect by either supplementing PAF 5 with PAFWiz, or by fully utilizing Ancestral Quest.
